Materials:
A 5 subject MEAD spiral bound notebook. Preferably the kind with folders. If yours does not have folders, you will need a folder for this class.
I recommend a thumb drive or floppy disk so students can transfer assignments between school and home. However, the student's wikispace can do this as well.
*Students in the past have found it helpful to purchase their own copies from Manteo Booksellers so they may take notes in them. However, this is not required, and texts will be provided
Class Policies:
Weekly assignment sheets are given to the students on Mondays and emailed home to parents. These should be used to make up missed work or manage projects
Weekly missing task lists are sent home every Friday so that students can make up work as they have it. I strongly encourage students to make up work as soon as possible
Be polite and respectfulto your classmates and teacher
You are expected to be in your seat, and working on the Daily Edit/Do Now when the late bell rings
All assignments that you turn in must be on loose-leaf, in blue or black pen or typed.Every assignment should include your name, the name of the assignment and the class period. If typing, please follow MLA formatting styles (template on S: drive)
Comply with MHS Honor Code
Students must turn in homework according to the MHS homework policy or they will be kept after school
Plagiarism is cheating, therefore, the MHS discipline conduct will be followed in the same manner
If you are late to class, please immediately start working when you enter, and try not to disrupt the rest of the class.
The first time you arrive late you will be given a verbal warning. After that, you will receive 60 minutes of After School Detention for every time you are tardy.
If you are going to be absent, I encourage you to call or email me and arrange to get the work before you return to school. You can also reference your weekly assignment sheet to see what will be covered in class. It is your responsibility to make up any assignments you have missed.
Make up tests will not be given unless the absence is excused. However, all work should be made up (per Student Handbook).
